Changing Covers and cover reveal

It’s always a hard decision to change the cover on a book. When we first choose the cover it’s because we love it, assuming we had the choice and it wasn’t a publisher making the decision. But in this case, I chose the covers. I loved them, but apparently not too many others did, so it’s time to change them and up the ante so to speak.

It could be a lot of things that I have no control over. But as a self-published author, I do have control over the cover and these guys are a damn sight better to look at than a black sky with some planets in it. 🙂

I hope you like them as much as I do.

Leave me a comment telling me what you think of the covers and you could be one of three (3) winners that will win a full set (ecopies) of the entire series or, if you are a US resident you can choose the single volume paperback that contains all three books, Centauri Dawn, Centauri Twilight and Centauri Midnight.

I’d love to know what you think.

  1. While there is nothing inherently wrong with the new covers, I actually prefer the original ones. However, I am one of those oddballs that prefers an atypical romance cover.

Since these covers have the more traditional romance “feel”, I would be interested in knowing if your sales do increase after the change. Good luck and please keep us posted!

  2. I like the color schemes in the new covers, but I am not a big fan of rippled abs. (That’s just me).
Sci-fi romance is my favorite favorite genre. It’s nice to know you write and self-publish them.

  3. Hey Cindy! I like the 2nd go of cover- since these are the third. LOL… But I avoid books with ripped men on them. Let know if it helps your sales any- might be something to think about with my PR novel. ;0) I love the colors though.

  4. Cynthia, it took me a few seconds to see the science fiction elements. I suggest you put a second moon in to make it more obvious. Very sexy covers. Best of luck with them. It’s a great series! I already have it, if I win from the comments, give it to someone else. 🙂

  5. That red one really pops. Not fond of the blow-a-way hair of the guy in the 3rd book/purple color. But that is a personal thing and nothing really wrong.

Best of luck with the new covers.

  6. Cynthia, you made the right choice with your series. The covers work well together as a group. A reader can tell they are part of one series, easily. The design is balanced and clean. This is so important today. Quick, visual information.

    Good Luck!

  7. Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. In a way, I’m glad that not everyone likes them. That is a good thing. You’re not indifferent to them and I like that. They are like our books, some people love them, some hate them, but everyone has an opinion of them, they aren’t indifferent.

  8. I think the new covers will work well. Good luck. I wrote a sci-fi book once (never submitted), but a friend of mine did a mock cover for me to put on my website, and I just love it. Your covers remind my of my Genus cover. 🙂 But I have a girl instead of hot guys. lol

  9. Like everyone else, I do like the new covers. My hubby reads sci-fi books but I don’t read his sci-fi books. I like sci-fi romance and your new covers really set your books apart from the typical sci-fi genre.
