We all love to read about an Alpha male. Our best heroes are Alpha males. But in real life would we really want our men to be totally Alpha? Do we really want a guy that takes charge of everything? Probably not. A true Alpha male would not allow us or our heroine to have our own lives. To do and be what we need to be.
Sure, in our books an alpha hero is great. We want him to take charge and keep our heroine safe but in the best books he also has a soft side. A heart that we can reach. A part of him that is not alpha but is as vulnerable as the rest of us. He wouldnβt be our hero without the part of him that we can capture and hold close to our own hearts.
A perfect Alpha male is tough and gentle, hard and soft, stern and giving. Heβs all the things we need him to be. He cares for us but allows us our freedom to become all we can be. He loves us enough to let us spread our wings and fly without him, knowing all the while that heβs there to pick us up after we fall and will protect us with his life if we need him to.
What is your idea of an Alpha male and would you want to marry one? Or like me do you want a man who is the best of both the Alpha and the non-alpha male.

Thanks for commenting and congratulations on having your own Alpha.
You either get the whole deal of Alpha Male, or you get a Beta. There is no middle ground. The women who truly appreciates me knows the meaning of sacrifice and love for me, and puts me ahead of her own needs.
I am being blessed with the knowledge, courage and guts that it takes to be the Alpha, and I reap all the benefits from it. I have my soft side, I have my boundaries too, but I always come first. Because that is what I am.
I don’t know how to respond to this. π
oh yes i would marry a alpha male they are strong, protective and love like anything.thanks for a great giveaway x

They do love completely, at least in our books.
I need to break it to one of the girls at work that she’s dating an alpha male. She just let it slip that he loves WWE as well as drives a truck.
Too funny.
I’m quite happy with my beta hubby. I kinda wish he had more alpha tendencies though. At least in one arena. π
Thanks for commenting. Maybe you should tell him you’d like him to be more aggressive in that arena.
I agree with your description of the perfect Alpha. I think most women want a strong, confident man, but not someone too bossy or who acts like a robot. He has to have that softer side and emotion, even if he doesn’t show it in public.
Agreed. The softer side can be at home as long as he’s not an ogre in public.
I love reading about the alpha males, but my husband is definitely more Beta, quite happy with him just as he is.

I love to read about alpha males but I don’t think I could live with one. When I read about them I want them strong, protective and in charge.
sstrode at scrtc dot com
So true. Thanks for commenting.
I, too love reading about alpha males, but I don’t think I could handle one all the time. My husband is alpha when I need him to be, but not all the time.
kesummer69 at gmail dot com
Mine is too. I couldn’t handle it if he didn’t have a softer side too.
I did marry an alpha male and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Sometimes I do want to beat him with a book but I always resist the feeling. lol Thanks for giveaway.
kaylyndavis1986@yahoo.com
Thanks for stopping by and I’m sure your hubby is thankful you don’t beat him with your book. π
I probably need an alpha male to keep me in check! LOL I do not feel I have ever dated one though. I prefer to be the alpha….
Thanks for the great hop and giveaway!

Congratulations on being the Alpha in your relationship. I know a lot of us would like to be, or think we would.
I totally agree with your idea of an alpha and hell yes, I’d marry one!

Hi Cindy –
Great definition of an alpha male. Definitely would marry one…if I wasn’t already married! π

There’s lots of them out there, just keep your eye on the prize and you’ll find him.
I’m lucky too. And when I found him scooped him right up and married him. Celebrated 33 years last Sat.
Congratulations Marian. Good for you.
I love everything about Alphas but I don’t know if I could marry one! Awesome Blog Hop!
susanmplatt AT hotmail DOT com
I couldn’t marry a total Alpha. I have to know that I have some say in the marriage too. Don’t think I’d get that with a total Alpha male.
I love reading (and fantasizing!) about alphas, but in my real life, I like the alpha/beta combo.
jochibi AT yahoo DOT com
Me, too.
I love Alpha men, because I need someone as confident and dominant as me to have an equal relationship – I hate the feeling that my partner is less powerful than me and cannot make it without me.
oceanrebel333@gmail.com
Thanks for stopping by. I can understand your feelings a lot of us feel the same way.
I love Alpha Males when they are strong, protective, take charge and dominate! yummy!! Oh yes I would totally marry one!! I’m dating one right now!!

I love reading about a true Alpha but in real life I would want the mixture of both Alpha and Beta.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I couldn’t agree more.
I love alpha males in books, but in real life I think too many of the men that try to be alpha males are actually just jerks. I would love to meet one that proves me wrong though. π

I hope you do.
Oh, boy, I love a cowboy! And, an Alpha cowboy at that! Yumm-o! Thanks for sharing, and a chance to win.

Lucky you! An alpha cowboy!
I married an alpha. The only problem is, is that I am too so we can clash at times.
Yvette
yratpatrol@aol.com
That can be a problem, but making up is lots of fun too I bet.
I do love to read alpha males in my books, but I think it stops there. Ha, there’s no way I could stand marriage to one. I’d have to be the alpha in that relationship. π Thanks for the giveaway, Cindy.

I loved your take on an alpha male. So true.
Edna Curry edna@midco.net
Thanks Edna.
Your idea of the perfect alpha is pretty dead on actually and if I wasn’t already married, and that “Perfect” alpha existed and was interested in me, I’d marry him in a heartbeat!
Thanks for being part of the blog hop and for your giveaway. Best wishes and continued success

My alpha would have to be faithful, loving, strong, and protective. Thanks!

Nice combination.
Protective, faithful, strong and just a touch possessive. Thanks

Also a good combination of traits.
I have my own true alpha male. 30 years of marriage next month!

Congratulations.
Greetings,
Doing the Alpha Male blog hopβ¦.oh yeah! Iβm excited to be a part of this hop! Wow, 200+ authors—a perfect opportunity to meet new authors! Itβs always fun trying to visit as many sites as possible.
I love alpha heroes who are take charge men! They are loyal, loving and caring men. They usually have sexy looks, brains, money and a commanding presence that draws people. When they find their mates and fall in love they will move heaven and earth to stake their claim. This is exciting to watch even when they are not sure why they have to have or be with this particular person. An awesome love dance! Itβs definitely addicting to read.
Thanks for the opportunity to win some great prizes.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland.
Are these Blogs getting bigger,
or am I getting smaller? π
r.d1@myfairpoint.net
The hops are getting bigger. Much bigger. YAY.
I love reading stories with alpha males but I don’t think I would want to be married to a pure alpha. I prefer a perfect mix of alpha and beta traits.
bituin76 AT hotmail DOT com
So do I.
I’d definitely marry one!
Alpha males are the bestβ¦.strong, independent, fiercely protective, but on the inside they are nothing but a big olβ teddy bear! I love the way their mouths talk filthy, but their eyes portray their sensitive sweet. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It’s all in the heart…..alpha males are the best!
Thanks for participating in the hop!
molly at reviewsbymolly dot com
The best ones whether alpha or beta or whatever, have great big hearts.
I’m not sure, I don’t think I’ve ever met a guy like that in real life so I’m not sure how it would work – I love them in books though π
Thanks for participating in the hop!
dmr8888 at yahoo dot com
Me too. In books I definitely like an alpha male.
Why I love Alpha Males is no real surprise! The perfect Alpha Male for me could be a Vampire, a Scottish Laird, an English Rogue/Gentleman, a Werewolf or Shape-shifter, or a Knight. Heβs the rogue who thinks he canβt be reformed into a gentleman. Heβs the rough and scarred Scottish laird that has a heart of gold. Heβs the werewolf or shape-shifter that needs to heal an aching heart because it took him years to find his true mate. Heβs the vampire who has waited decades for that special someoneβs blood to sing to him and wake him up. And heβs the knight who can defeat the enemy with a quick swing of his sword, but canβt see the love in front of his face. My Alpha Male has eyes that can see into your soul and are as blue as the sea, or as black as a storm. Heβs tall and brooding. His heart can enfold you into its grasp and make you fall in love when he gives it to you freely and completely. He is protective and passionate. In the end he is the one that makes your heart jump and butterflies fly in your stomach, and still kiss you until your legs melt!

I love reading about the confident, fiercely protective alpha with that dark edge and hidden soft side to him! I would definitely marry one!
mygirls01@yahoo.com
Love those hidden soft sides.
I have my very own alpha male, and it’s wonderful that he takes charge and I don’t have to worry about things. He’s protective and takes care of me, and yes, expects to be the center of attention. He has the power to command any room he’s in. π
Good for you.
I love my Alpha Males. They keep me coming back for more.
I Love how protective they are of their woman even when they KNOW she can kick some major ass.
Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win.
reneebennett35(at)yahoo(dot)com
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I love Alpha heroines too.
An alpha is confident. He knows his strengths & weaknesses. He is protective of those he loves. Woud I marry an alpha? I already did.
Wolphcall(at)bellsouth(dot)net
Congratulations. Good for you.
I would marry an alpha. There great.
I hope you find your dream alpha.
In real life I’d want my guy to be both alpha and non -alpha male.
mythic021@gmail.com
yup, me too.
I married an Alpha. He’s smart and always there to take charge and help. Not just in the family but he’s always helping the neighbors with everything to make sure things are great for every one around us making it even more amazing around us. I just love their take charge attitude and how protective they get of ALL those around them. But they definitely have a hierarchy of who comes first. Which in my case is me and the kids. π Alpha’s are great! xstitchdiva at att dot net
Sounds like you have a definite keeper.
I definitely would marry an Alpha. An Alpha for me is a man who has the take charge attitude, inner strength and also compassion, tenderness, loyalty and a great sense of humor.
Thanks for the opportunity.

You and I think alike.
I married an alpha male – an Egyptian. His family is part of the Coptic minority, but he’s got all the afflictions of a patriarchal society burned into him. However, that comes with so many benefits that it’s worth the frustrations. And the best part is that even though no one would ever guess, when it comes to me he’s all tender-hearted. Eighteen years of marriage and counting, gotta love those alpha males! (janesadek@gmail.com)
Congratulations on your marriage.
I love Alphas, =) mostly to read about them but itΒ΄s nice being cared for, too *happy sigh*
Love the giveaway!

Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like Alphas.
I love alphas π They are strong, possessive, protective, and most of them are beautifully flawed. Their gentleness is swoon-worthy too! π
I have an alpha at home, and I wouldn’t have it any other way π

Loving the awesome blog hop!
So many new books I want to read!
Alpha Males are my fav! So, dominate and fun to tease. And when they talk feelings they mean every word! And heck yeah I will marry him when I find him!
grapeapril75 at gmail dot com
Thank you for stopping by.
I think the best of both worlds is definitely best! I like alphas~<3 Very sexy! But would I personally want one ALL the time? Nope, lol, because sometimes they just don't know when to let up and lax on that possessive hold. Thank you for the giveaway!
MostlyMisha[at]gmail[dot]com
I like the best of both worlds too.
I love alpha males because they can be strong and a tease. However, they shouldn’t be all controlling. I need some room to breathe. lol
prettyhaydengurl at yahoo dot com
Room to breathe is a good thing.
Great hop!
Thanks for the chance!
bacchus76 at myself dot com
You’re very welcome.
Alpha males, to me, are compassionate, loyal, honest, determined, strong, and have something in their past that made them into the men they are today. To answer if I would marry one, I can honestly say I currently am.

Congratulations on your own alpha male.
I’d marry the right one in a heartbeat.

Glad you’re having a good time.
I like alphas and their protectiveness.
bn100candg(at)hotmail(dot)com
That is one of their best traits and sometimes the most frustrating.
I agree, the best heroes are Alpha, with a soft side, A hybrid Alpha…. Great post!
Must have that softer side. Otherwise they can be jerks.
I love when an Alpha is determined, strong and protective as well as charming, caring and creative..
Thanks for sharing and being a part of the hop
BeckeyWhiteATgmailDOTcom
You’re the first one who has said creative. I have to agree.
I love an Alpha, but you have to be one strong woman to stand up to that kind of power. I’m not a fan of weak men. If I feel I could take the guy down or best him physically, I struggle to be attracted. Okay, I’m a little gal and this shouldn’t be tough for a man to be tougher than me, but I’ve been very surprised to find too many uber sensitive wimps. Not heroic at all.
My favorite hero is Jamie Fraser in Gabaldon’s OUTLANDER series. He’s got it all. Write a version of that, and I will loyally read everything you put out.
I need to write that hero!
Write that hero now. I want to read him too. Heck I want to write him, too.
I love Alpha males and would marry one as long as I get to see the softer side of him as well.
meingee@yahoo.com
That’s what we all want. Strong and tender.
I’ll take him and keep him as long as I can still be myself. Can’t be to Alpha Male and take over my entire life. π
Chris
ceagles48218@yahoo.com
None of us want to have them totally take over. That’s why there needs to be some beta too.
I’m like you I want an alpha male but I don’t’ want him to be overly Alpha. Ever once in awhile I want to be the one giving orders π
Thank you for being part of the blog hop π
savannahm1987@gmail.com
You got it girlfriend.
Love alpha males! Especially when they are balanced with strong heroines π
Thanks for the giveaway.
yelena(dot)casale(at)yahoo(dot)com
Amen to that.
I don’t like being told what to do, so I don’t know if I could marry a true alpha. I want to marry an equal partner. However, I like the alpha characteristics of strength, intelligence, protectiveness, and loyalty.
marlenebreakfield(at)yahoo(dot)com
Totally understand your logic.
I married an alpha π Our personalites even eachother out
june111(at)att(dot)net
How wonderful for you.
I think that I’d be like you and want a man from both sides. I want a man that tough and alpha but really loveable on the inside. But I do think that if I found the right alpha, I’d marry him. Thanks for being a part of the hop. I hope that you have a great week.
jessangil (at) gmail (dot) com
Thank you for stopping by, Jessica.
I love alpha males who are strong, sexy, and protective of those they love. Bones from the Night Huntress is one of my favorites. In real life, I think my husband is a good mix of alpha and non-alpha.
Thanks for the giveaway!
snhoveln (at) gmail (dot) com
Thanks for stopping by, Stephanie.
My ideal alpha is Xavier (from my Existence series). I wouldn’t want to marry him. (I leave that for Wend… if she says yes…)
I am also quite partial to Dr. Gregory House (of the tv show House M.D.), Sheriff Carter (of the tv show Eureka), and Chief (from “The Laughing Man” in JD Salinger’s Nine Stories).
Wouldn’t marry any of them either. LOL.
j.lennidorner AT facebook DOT com
That’s interesting. I wouldn’t have put Sheriff Carter in with the Alpha’s but I think you are right. He is a take charge kind of guy but he does have his warm fuzzy side. I’d marry him in a heartbeat.
Thanks for being a part of the blog hop. i love how powerful, fierce and passionate alpha males can be.
i totally want to read your books
raynekitten@gmail.com
Ah, thanks so much.
I don’t mind reading about alpha males, but, ugh, no way would I want to marry one. My husband is right for me. He has no objections if I do what I want to do. I’d be stir-crazy is someone wanted to tell me what to do.
