Autumn’s Harvest Blog Hop

What do you think of when you think of autumn or fall? I think of crisp evenings and warm days. Of new clothes for school and Halloween.

It’s my favorite time of year. Autumn. I’m a September baby and my birthday is usually the first day of fall, so I guess I was predestined to like autumn the best. I love the smell of fall, portending the coming of Ol’ Man Winter. I love the changing colors of the leaves and even putting my garden to bed before winter is upon us.

I still buy new clothes in the fall. Like I’m still getting ready for school. Only now, I get to buy what I like, not just what fits. I was extremely lucky as a child because my mother could sew. I would show her what I wanted in a magazine and she could make it for me. She made her own patterns, so the sky was the limit. Of course, she had to approve it as well. My dresses were always longer than the current fashion of miniskirts, but now that I think back to it, she always dressed me well. The other kids didn’t tease me about my clothes because they were just like theirs. I was a fat kid so I didn’t have the choices that the other kids did when it came to buying clothes, but my mom made sure I had clothes that I liked to wear and that were in current fashion, too.

And Halloween. What can I say? I love it. Seeing the little ones dressed up as princesses and cowboys and bumble bees. I love it. I decorate our house. I dress up every year and give out the candy. LOTS of candy. I give out a handful to each child. I remember when I was a kid and only got one little piece. I thought it was so chintzy, unless of course, it was a full size bar. Then WOW! I’d hit the jackpot. Now when Mom said I could have only one piece I had a major one to spring on her. LOL

Then there is Thanksgiving. A favorite holiday because I get to spend it with my chosen family. Not just the family I was born into but the one I choose to belong to.

Let’s face it there are so many things to love about fall. And I love them all.

I’m giving away two $5 Starbucks cards and 2 paperback copies of TAME A WILD BRIDE. In order to be entered in the drawings for my prizes and for the Grand Prizes of a Kindle Fire or Nook, a $50 giftcard, and a HUGE swag pack, you MUST LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR COMMENT.

  1. I love autumn, too. I love the colors and the sun sparkling off the frosty grass. I love Halloween and Thanksgiving and all the festivities.

  2. It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!

  3. Autumn is always bittersweet for because I’m a summer person and autumn is a reminder that winter is just waiting to spring its snow and ice and freezing cold breath on me. I try not to think of it too much, and I do enjoy the colors. Halloween and Thanksgiving are great, too. I’m grateful I don’t live back east and have to deal with superstorm Sandy. Love your stories, Cynthia. My e-mail is karaleelong@earthlink.net.

  4. Love the colors. I’m originally from Ontario, where they were quite vibrant in the fall. Not quite the same spectrum out west where I am now, but we’ve had some lovely autumns in the last decade.

How are you finding the response to your new cover art, Cindy?

    • Haven’t had much response yet, but I’m going to give it some time. It may be that I’m just now supposed to write those stories and I should stay with the westerns. Only time will tell. Thanks for asking.

  5. Hi Cindy,
I love that you buy yourself new clothes in the fall. 🙂 That’ll make any girl happy. My birthday is near Thanksgiving so it’s a guaranteed party every year with lots of food.

Thanks for the great giveaways. This is my first blog hop…wish I would’ve thought about giving away Starbucks. 🙂

  8. I love Fall, the temp is usually just right not too hot but not too cold. The leaves changing are gorgeous and that leads into Thanksgiving which I love not just for food but to be able to spend it with my family.

  9. I really enjoy the fall season beginning with the break in the summer heat then heading into the fun and silliness of the buildup to Halloween and on to the buildup for the holidays. I find so many are stressed and worried and if I just smile like a looney at the cranky faces, there are a few that will actually breakdown and smile back 🙂 Thank you for your generous sharing with us and participating in this fun hop.

  10. Autumn is my favorite season! I like all the beautiful colors outside and the weather is not that hot anymore but not freezing cold either. It’s just perfect! Thank you for the giveaway!

  15. I always know fall is close when the Chinese nut trees (that’s my name for them) start turning red, yellow, and orange of the most vibrant hues. As we drive along the highway up here in the Sierra Mountains, the sight takes my breath away.

With Fall homemade soups are a must. Love the fragrance permeating the house.

  16. I think I still have the back-to-school mentality because I buy clothes in the fall too. I also like to peruse the school supply aisles. LOL! Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. Fall is a favorite season. The insects are gone, so are the hot days making hiking ideal. I’m actually a winter person, my favorite season and I know snow will soon follow.

  18. There are so many things I love about fall – my birthday, Thanksgiving, the leaves – and everything pumpkin I can eat! Thanks for being in the hop!

  19. I adore autumn because of the amazing colors, bundling up in sweaters, Halloween and my birthday! Autumn also means cuddling up with a good book and a cup of cocoa!

    grapeapril75(at)gmail(dot)com

I love the hops cause of all the awesome new books I find to add to my to read list!

  20. Autumn to me for some reason has always seemed depressing. I never liked it. I much prefer spring. While I enjoy Thanksgiving the season is depressing. Cold weather is coming and I hate the cold wet. I like it when it’s beginning to get warm and everything is growing and green. In Hawaii I never missed fall or winter. It stayed so nice. 21. I love fall. The leaves, the crisp cool air, Thanksgiving. And I love staying indoors on a cold, blustery day with a mug of something warm and a good book.

  22. I agree the air is crisper more refreshing a bit, I enjoy seeing the changing colors of the trees also…
Then there is the release of Pumpkin Spice Latta from Starbucks (yum)
    Take care

    Happy Holidays

  23. We were poor , so we only got the school supplies we had to have, so now I get a secret thrill when I see the ads. It also means the colored leaves and cooler air with comfort foods is just around the corner. Love snuggling up with my peach tea and a good book,

  24. I love autumn with all the brilliant colors: oranges, yellows and reds of leaves. I love crisp, cool mornings where the sky is so blue it looks endless and the air is so fresh in your lungs. I love snuggling up in a warm throw on a cold autumn day with a good book. Of course, I love snuggling up with a good book about anytime of the year. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time to remember all the many blessings in my life and express thanks. I love baking spicy pumpkin pies with dollops of cream.

The last book I finished was “Unravel Me” by Kendall Ryan. I liked it because the hot story line was so unexpected. I also love the steamy passion of the likes of Sylvia Day and Sylvain Reynard, but I hate mentioning favorite authors because the list is long. I appreciate the many styles authors use to weave stories of mystery, love, intrigue, preternatural and inspiration. I love reading because I can go anywhere, any time in my mind and imagine indescribable things.

  25. My favorite thing about Autumn/Fall is the changing color of the leaves, orange, yellow, red, even purple. They are so pretty. My least favorite thing is raking up those pretty leaves. LOL I love to curl up by the fire and read a hot romance book on a cold fall evening. Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win.

  27. When I think of Autumn, I think of the holidays. 🙂 Thanksgiving always makes me so happy!
It is warm mostly year round where I live, so I don’t get to see the seasons change.
Great post. Thank you for sharing and for the giveaway.
